IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND EVALUATION IN MOZAMBIQUE

Jembi Health System in collaboration with MOASIS (Mozambique Open Architectures, Standards and Information Systems), within the framework of a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Health of Mozambique, invites companies, non-governmental, software and system developers and other interested organizations to submit expressions of interest to bid for a future tender for implementation of the National Health Information System for Monitoring and Evaluation in Mozambique.

Consultancy Announcement

The Ugandan Ministry of Health is seeking a senior consultant to support the newly formed eHealth Technical Working Group. This position will be supported by UNICEF for a period of 11 months.


Some of the responsibilities of this consultant include:

·  Creating a governance structure for the creation and ongoing management of the national eHealth programme

·  Gathering, analyzing and presenting documentation on existing frameworks, policies and legislation, and best practices and standards

·  Working with other donor-sponsored eHealth consultants in developing the eHealth strategic plan and a national Health Information System Policy and Strategic Framework.

·  Supporting evaluations of proposed eHealth projects

·  Developing technical standards and a hosting / network strategy, and a hardware and support maintenance plan for IT infrastructure

Consultancy Notice for eHealth/mHealth study in South Sudan


Duration: 15 March 2012 – 30 April 2012

Deadline: 9 March 2012

Description
The Consultant shall carry out a needs analysis for eHealth/mHealth to support priority health sector activities in South Sudan, in consultation with the project partners – Advance Development for Africa (ADA), WHO and Ericsson – using identified templates for country situation analysis recommended by WHO and other international agencies for such studies.

Main activities
The consultant is expected to:
1) Do a desk study of eHealth activities in South Sudan;
2) Undertake a mission to Juba and other identified places in South Sudan to gather data and information on eHealth/mHealth projects through interaction with various categories of stakeholders – government officials, academic institutions, industry players and civil society organizations;
3) Prepare a draft report on eHealth/mHealth activities in South Sudan;
4) Serve as facilitator at a meeting/workshop with project partners and other stakeholders, where the draft report will be reviewed. Logistics for the meeting/workshop will be managed directly by the project partners;
5) Prepare final report and project proposal, based on the review.
