Vision :

Nurses extending their reach through technology and improving the quality of healthcare delivery worldwide.

Mission :
Provide a forum for exchange of knowledge and experiences of nurses and others who are working with or supporting nurses using eHealth applications.

Objectives :

  • Technology: 

              o Advocate for increased use and evaluation of telehealth services by nurses.
              o Stimulate innovative ideas and promote initiatives for further development of eHealth.

  • Business: 

              o Support interdisciplinary telehealth collaboration for improved healthcare delivery and outcomes.

  • Professional: 

              o Advance nurses’ knowledge and skills in telehealth through dissemination of research findings,
                 education programmes, and practice guidelines.
              o Advocate ethical use of telehealth services.

Virtual Education Sessions:

A session that combined classroom and virtual attendees was organized by nurses for the  2012 Med-e-Tel Conference.

The presentations were:

I.                     “Nursing professionals’ barriers for the use of educational technologies: an integrative literature review,” presented by Isabel A.C. Mendes and developed by Maria A. Trevizan.

II.                   “Telehealth nursing: building knowledge through research,” presented by Claudia C. Bartz.

III.                 “Technology use for health education to caregivers: an integrative review of nursing literature,” presented by Isabel A.C. Mendes.

IV.                 “Nurse telephone triage – the benefits, risks and quality assurance,” presented by Sally-Anne Pygall.
